Exciting News! A Newly update GRI Program 

Melanie The West Virginia Association of REALTORS® (WVAR)  Education Institute is excited to announce our new Graduate REALTOR®  Institute (GRI) update program! The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) requires that the state GRI program be resubmitted every three years for recertification. So, we took this opportunity to improve our program; to make it even better that it already was. When you take this class you will as a bonus, along with getting your GRI designation receive your Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) designation and your Green Designation.

Here’s what you can expect from the class:

Module 1 will give you the foundation of our Code of Ethics, Real Estate law, and business planning, REALTOR® safety, business etiquette and much more.

Module 2 will deal with business development. On the first day you will learn about REALTORS® Property Resource (RPR) and general market knowledge. For days 2 and 3 we have scheduled a presentation by our NAR Designation Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR) which new to this year’s GRI training.

Module 3 will discuss GREEN and environmental issues. The first two days will consist of NAR’s GREEN designation course, while on day 3 you will hear from environmental professionals in our industry. They will explain how to understand, present and deliver to your clients the reports you receive.

Module 4 deals with technology in the real estate industry. Over these 3 days you will learn about the technology used in the industry, from data security to using technology properly. You will learn how to stay in compliance with the laws as well as the right way to photograph and make videos of your listings.

If you have already received your GRI designation and would like to take any of the other classes, you may free of charge. The only exception being the ABR and GREEN classes. There will be a fee for these two classes.

The West12d66aa7958f1cd98e6c9d575b9cc5a1 Virginia Real Estate Commission is pleased to announce the receipt of an education award from the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO) for its “Comprehensive Guide to Real Estate Continuing Education.” The award was presented at the Association’s Annual Conference in Washington D.C., in 2015.

The purpose of the Guide is to present the Commission’s expectations related to all aspects of the continuing education approval process following the requirements of the West Virginia Real Estate License Act and the Commission’s Legislative Rules.

The goal is to help the approved continuing education providers and instructors in their effort to develop high quality education offerings and provide WV licensees with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully offer and practice real estate brokerage services in a manner that serves and protects the public interest.

The Guide was presented at the Instructor Development Workshop offered by the Commission in 2015 at the Flatwoods Conference Center, WV.

The document offers direct benefits to all continuing education providers and instructors, who will use it in their course design and development activities by providing them current information and knowledge on topics directly related to the course submission, review and approval process and requirements. It offers current knowledge about WV Real Estate License Act and Commission Legislative Rules pertinent to all aspects of WV real estate continuing education and the Commission’s expectations about the quality of continuing education offerings to WV licensees.
