A Message from CEO Ray Joseph

Just like March, WVAR is coming in like a lion—but we’re standing strong within our pride. After all, lions don’t have to roar to remind everyone who they are.

We’ve reached the halfway mark of the legislative session, and our commitment to monitoring and advocating for key bills on your behalf remains unwavering. Your voice is being heard, and we continue to push forward with initiatives that protect and strengthen both consumers and the industry.

In a tremendous show of support, the National Association has approved a $250,000 grant request submitted by WVAR and the West Virginia REALTOR® Relief Foundation (WVRRF) to assist those devastated by recent flooding in the southern part of our state. WVRRF President Paige Powers, WVRRF board member and National RRF committee member Alisa Jackson, and Beckley REALTOR® Sara Milam have been on the ground, braving the elements in muck boots and foul-weather gear. Their dedication has been instrumental in helping victims complete applications, distribute supplies, and provide financial assistance through WVRRF. To date, more than 40 families have received direct aid, and some of our local associations—including Beckley and Morgantown—have stepped up to collect and distribute much-needed supplies.

And speaking of WVRRF, wait until you see what they have “hatched” for WVAR’s Quarterly Meetings at The Greenbrier later this month! It’s shaping up to be something you won’t want to miss, and we hope to see many of you there—all are welcome.

As we march forward, strong and steady, let’s continue to rise above the noise. I look forward to seeing you at The Greenbrier.
