At the Harrison County Association of REALTORS® (HCAR), our mission goes beyond just real estate. We are deeply invested in the community we serve, and we’re excited to share some of the impactful programs and initiatives we’re currently involved in. From supporting local schools to offering scholarships for area youth, we are proud of the work we’re doing to make Harrison County a better place for all.

1. Monthly Community Outreach for Local Schools: We are proud to continue our annual tradition of supporting Harrison County’s elementary schools. From August through May, we work hard to ensure every public and private school receives much-needed supplies. This includes classroom essentials, cleaning supplies, and, in some cases, new socks, shoes, hats, and gloves. We aim to visit 2-3 schools each month to keep the momentum going throughout the school year. Now entering our third year of this program, we continue to receive heartfelt gratitude from teachers, students, and staff who are overwhelmed by the generosity and support. It’s truly an amazing feeling to see the joy our contributions bring to those who need it most.

2. Scholarship Program for High School Seniors: We are excited to announce the opening of our annual scholarship program! High school seniors from all of Harrison County’s high schools are eligible to apply. Each senior is invited to submit an essay, and one student from each high school will receive a $1,000 scholarship to further their education. This scholarship can be applied to trade schools, colleges, or universities. This is the third year we’ve offered this opportunity, and it’s an incredible way for us to support the educational aspirations of our local youth. We look forward to awarding these scholarships and watching these bright students take the next steps in their futures.

3. Upcoming Golf Scramble at Bridgeport Country Club: Join us for a day of fun and philanthropy at our upcoming Golf Scramble at Bridgeport Country Club on April 28, 2025! Several 4-person teams are already registered, and we’re thrilled to have local sponsors from the community involved. The proceeds from this event will directly benefit our scholarship program, helping to fund the $1,000 scholarships for deserving high school seniors. It’s a wonderful opportunity to network, enjoy some friendly competition, and give back to the community in the process. We invite you to register a team, sponsor the event, or simply come out to support the cause. For more details, check out the attached flyers!

At the Heart of HCAR: Giving Back to the Community: Community service and giving back are at the heart of HCAR’s mission. We recognize that many of our neighbors are facing difficult challenges, and we are committed to doing what we can to ease those burdens—both through real estate and through other means. Whether it’s supporting local schools, helping students pursue their dreams, or organizing events to raise funds for these programs, we are honored to serve the people of Harrison County in every way we can.
