Reflecting on an Unforgettable WVAR Convention
As President of the West Virginia Association of Realtors, I am thrilled to share the highlights of our recent convention, which proved to be a resounding success. This year’s event brought together our dedicated members for an inspiring and productive gathering that celebrated our shared commitment to excellence in real estate.
The convention kicked off with The WVRPAC Auction which was a tremendous success, drawing Major Investors and raising essential funds to support our advocacy efforts. The generosity of our sponsors and attendees was overwhelming, and I am grateful to everyone who contributed. Members in attendance invested an incredible total of $28,370 to RPAC, including 22 new RPAC Investors, and we brought the total of WVAR Major Investors from West Virginia up to 35!
Our membership breakfast took place the following morning featuring our special guest, Colin Eggleston. His insights into communication and expression sparked meaningful conversations and set a positive tone for the days ahead. At our Membership meeting, we successfully updated our bylaws, ensuring that our organization remains dynamic and responsive to the needs of our members.
We had the privilege of celebrating the achievements of our tenth graduating class of the WVAR Leadership Academy, with Gerry Williams delivering a powerful commencement speech that inspired our future leaders. Congratulations to the “Magnificent 7”!
Continuing education was a standout feature this year, with engaging sessions led by the talented Amy Chorew, Amy White, and representatives from the WV Real Estate Commission. Their expertise and passion for real estate left attendees better equipped to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of our profession.
A highlight of the convention was the installation ceremony where we proudly welcomed Josh McGrath as our 2025 WVAR State President. His leadership promises to guide our association toward new heights in the coming years. All told, we had more than 220 guests help us celebrate this special event.
Thank you to all who made this event possible and to those who attended. The energy, collaboration, and commitment displayed at this convention reaffirmed the strength of our association. Here’s to a bright future for WVAR!
